This version introduces a new user experience, with the same reliable features you know and trust from earlier versions of CrashPlan for Small Business. The version 6 Code42 app introduces a Home view for quick access to Code42 app's most-frequently-used features:

  • Downloading files: Click Get Files for a device on your user account to browse, search, and download backed up files and file versions.
  • Viewing backup status: See at a glance whether backup is complete, in progress, paused, or needs attention.

Get files

You back up files so you can get them back when you need them. Formerly known as "restore," the Get Files interface in Code42 app makes it easier than ever to view and download your backed up files.

File browser

In version 6.6 and later, a new file browser makes browsing and searching your backed up files feel a lot like looking for those files on the original device. In addition to being more intuitive, the new file browser offers quick access to a few useful features. Hover over a file for quick access to:

  • Download the file with default download options
  • View previously-backed up versions of the file

Get Files Options

Like earlier versions of the Code42 app, you can tell CrashPlan for Small Business where to download files, what to do with existing files that match that file's name, and how to handle its permissions. But in version 6, these options are easier to find and update.

After selecting the files you want to download, click Get Files. Your Get Files Options display automatically. If you update these options, Code42 app remembers your preferences until you leave the Get Files browser.
