Add your Outlook.com account to another mail app

This article describes how to add your Outlook.com account to an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch , an Android device, or a Windows phone. If you need to add your Outlook.com account to another device or app, you'll need the POP, IMAP, or SMTP settings for Outlook.com. See POP, IMAP, and SMTP settings for Outlook.comfor more information.

On Windows Phone and tablet devices, you can download the Outlook Mail and Outlook Calendar app to access your email, calendar, and contacts.

1. On the app list, tap Settings > Accounts > Email & app accounts > Add an account.

2. Select Outlook.com.

3. Enter your email address and select Next.

4. Enter your password and select Sign in.

5. If you've enabled two-step verification for your account, approve the sign-in request.

6. Select Next when asked if you want to sign in to this device using your Microsoft account.

7. Select Done.

On iOS devices, you can download the Microsoft Outlook app to access your email, calendar, and contacts. If you don't want to use this app, you can still add your email to the default iOS mail app.

Add your Outlook.com account to the Microsoft Outlook app

1. Open the Microsoft Outlook app and select Settings Settings > Add Account > Add Email Account.

Note: If this is your first time using the app, select Get Started.

2. Enter your email address and select Add Account.

3. Enter your password and select Sign in.

4. If you've enabled two-step verification for your account, approve the sign-in request.

5. Answer Yes to the question Let this app access your info? You can change these permissions at any time in your account settings.

Note: If you select No, the Microsoft Outlook app won't be able to set up your account.

6. If you don't need to add another account, select Maybe Later to access your account.

Note: You can't edit your contacts within this app.

Add your Outlook.com account to your iOS Mail app

1. Select Settings > Mail > Accounts > Add Account.

2. Select Outlook.com.

3. Enter your email address and your password and select Sign in.

4. If you've enabled two-step verification for your account, approve the sign-in request.

5. Answer Yes to the question Let this app access your info? You can change these permissions at any time in your account settings.

Note: If you select No, the Microsoft Outlook app won't be able to set up your account.

6. By default, Mail, Contacts, Calendars, and Reminders are all enabled. If you want to turn any of those types of information off, tap the sliders, and then select Save.

On Android devices, you can download the Microsoft Outlook app to access your email, calendar, and contacts. If you don't want to use this app, you can still add your email to the default Android mail app.

Add your Outlook.com account to the Microsoft Outlook app

1. Open the Microsoft Outlook app and select Settings Settings > Add Account > Add an email account.

Note: If this is your first time using the app, select Get Started.

2. Enter your email address and select Continue.

3. Enter your password and select Sign in.

4. If you've enabled two-step verification for your account, approve the sign-in request.

5. Answer Yes to the question Let this app access your info? You can change these permissions at any time in your account settings.

Note: If you select No, the Microsoft Outlook app won't be able to set up your account.

6. If you don't need to add another account, select Maybe Later to access your account.

Note: You can't edit your contacts within this app.

Add your Outlook.com account to your Gmail app

1. Swipe in from the left side of the screen and select Settings > Add account.

2. Choose Personal (IMAP/POP) and select Next.

3. Enter your email address select Next.

4. Enter your password and select Sign in.

5. If you've enabled two-step verification for your account, approve the sign-in request.

6. Answer Yes to the question Let this app access your info? You can change these permissions at any time in your account settings.

Note: If you choose No, the Microsoft Outlook app won't be able to set up your account.

7. Choose how often you want the Gmail app to sync with your account and select Next.

8. Confirm your account name and the name that is displayed on your messages and select Next.

Adding your Outlook.com account to another mail app

If you're trying to add your Outlook.com account to a mail app that isn't listed above, you'll need the POP, IMAP, or SMTP settings for Outlook.com.
