How to download and install Acrobat DC on Mac
Acrobat DC subscribers
If you've purchased Acrobat Pro DC as a subscription, follow the instructions below to download, install, and activate Acrobat DC on your computer.
Note:
Acrobat Standard DC is a Windows-only offering and not available on Mac.
- Visit Document Cloud app center and sign in to your Adobe account.
- After you sign in, the Adobe Acrobat Pro download page appears. Click Download.
- The Adobe Creative Cloud web page is opened in a new tab, and the Acrobat DC installer (.DMG) file is downloaded.
- Based on which browser you're using, follow the instructions below:
Safari
You can see the downloaded DMG file by clicking the Show Downloads icon in the upper-right corner of the window. Double-click the DMG file, and skip to the next step.
Chrome
You can see the downloaded DMG file in the lower-left corner of the browser window. Double-click the DMG file, and skip to the next step.
Firefox
a. You see a file download prompt. Choose Save File, and then click OK.
b. You can see the downloaded DMG file by clicking the Show All Downloads icon in the upper-right corner of the window. Double-click the DMG file, and skip to the next step.
Note:
If you cannot locate the downloaded file, open the Finder and then select the Downloads folder in the left navigation pane. Double-click the downloaded DMG file.
- After the DMG file is mounted, you see the Adobe Acrobat installer screen. Double-click the installer icon to begin installation.
Mac OS may display an alert message, as shown below. Click Open.
Note:
You may be prompted to sign in. Sign in with your Mac user name and password.
- In the Let's Get Started dialog box, click Continue.
- The Check your browser dialog box is displayed. A new browser tab is opened for you to sign in to your Adobe account. Follow onscreen instructions in the browser's tab.
A confirmation message is displayed in the browser after successful sign-in.
- After successful sign-in, Acrobat DC installation starts and takes a few minutes to complete. The installer also installs the Creative Cloud desktop application.
After the installation is complete, Acrobat DC opens automatically. If prompted, sign in to your Adobe account.
